OTAGO TENNIS TOURNEY

Intermediate Title To G. Judge (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 23. Mesdames M. Rennie and C. Liddle (Otago) beat Misses J. Davidson and G. Hopkinson (Canterbury) in the final of the women’s doubles at the Otago tennis championships today. Because of wet weather, only one set was played. G. Judge (Canterbury) won the intermediate championship in his best display of the tournament, and Miss Denise Souter (South Canterbury) entered the final of the women’s intermediate championship by beating Miss Hopkinson. Miss Souter gave an outstanding display of fast, accurate driving from both wings, with an occasional change of pace. She will meet Miss S. Field in the final. Results of finals were:— Women’s Doubles.—Mesdames Liddell and Rennie beat Misses Davidson and Hopkinson, 9-6. Men’s Intermediate Singles.—G. Judge beat E. Kirkland, 9-4.
