Visitors Pay To See Macmillan Home

Lady Dorothy Macmillan, the wife of Britain’s Prime Minister, Mr Harold Macmillan, threw open their house and grounds at Birchwood, Sussex, to visitors today, the ‘‘Daily Express” reported. More than 4900 paid Is to walk through the gardens and 1000 acres of parkland, almost as many paid another 6d to see the house, including Mr Macmillan’s study and Lady Dorothy Macmillan’s private sitting room. The money would go to an unspecified charity, the ‘‘Daily Express” said.
