WOMAN DIES OF WOUNDS
Hit By Shotgun Charge (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 21. A married woman died in Taihape Hospital last night from injuries received when a shotgun carried by her husband discharged while he was closing a gate. She was: Mrs Vivienne Elsie Steedman, aged 37, wife of Eric Raymond Steedman, motor mechanic, of Kiwi road, Taihape. The accident occurred at 8.15 p.m. yesterday. Mrs Steedman was visiting her mother, Mrs M. R. Montgomery, and her brother. Mr R. Montgomery, at a house in Hautapu street, Taihape. She was accompanied by her husband, who had attended a gun club shoot at Moawhango. As he was shutting a gate at the back of the house the gun discharged and his wife, who was a short distance in front of him, was hit by the charge. She was taken to hospital, but died a short time after admission. She was the mother of three children, two boys and a girl.
