TENDERS are invited for the lease for TEN YEARS from Ist August, 1956, with a right of renewal for a further SEVEN YEARS of all those pieces of land situated in the Borough of Lyttelton having a total area of TWO ROODS AND THIRTYFOUR AND SIX TENTHS PERCHES (2 ro. 34.6 per.) or thereabouts, being part of the reclaimed land of the Lyttelton Harbour Board and being the blocks of land coloured respectively green and yellow in outline on a plan prepared by Eliot Orton Sinclair, Registered Surveyor, which plan and a draft lease of the said land are open for inspection during office hours at the board’s offices at Cathedral square, Christchurch and at Lyttelton and at the office of the Solicitors of the Board, Messrs Harper, Pascoe, Buchanan and Penlington, 118 Hereford street, Christchurch. The annual rental shall be determined by Tender, but shall not be less than ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN POUNDS SIXTEEN SHILLINGS (£ll4 16s) per annum from the Ist day of August, 1956, to the Ist day of August. 1957, ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-SIX POUNDS (£186) per annum from the Ist day of August, 1957, to the Ist dav of FEBRUARY, 1960, and THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT POUNDS TWO SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE (£358 2s 6d) per annum from the Ist day of February, 19(50, to the Ist day of August, 1966, and the lessee shall pay all rates, taxes (except Lessor’s land-tax) and insurance premiums. The Lessor shall not be responsible for the provision, continuance, or maintenance of any railway siding to serve the said land or any buildings now or hereafter erected thereon. Tenders endorsed "Tenders for Lease” will be received at the Office of the Board, Christchurch, until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the 30th day of April, 1957. Every tender shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or bank cheque equal to the first half-year’s rental, which will be refunded if the tender is not accepted.
