“ADVENTURE” TRIP FROM BRITAIN

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, April 10. The 70ft fishing boat, Summer Rose, has arrived at Aberdeen to load stores for a journey to New Zealand, says the “Glasgow Herald.” The owner of the vessel is Mr Leo Oxley, a Londoner, who has described the voyage as “a bit of adventure.” The crew was chosen by Mr Oxley and the skipper of the vessel, Mr Graham Gain, an Australian, from hundreds of emigrants with a thirst for adventure. About 800, including 200 women, answered Mr Oxley’s advertisement for crew. Young men. mostly with sailing experience, were chosen, among them being a New Zealand teacher, Mr Carl Freeman. The first port of call would be Kingston, Jamaica.
