TRAMWAY UNIONS’ AWARD
Employers’ Claims Filed First
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 21. Award claims by the Public Passenger Transport Association (employers) and counter-claims by the Tramway Unions in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch. Dunedin, and New Plymouth will be heard next month. The acting-president of the Dunedin Tramways Union (Mr G. A. H. Silver) said the usual position of the union filing its claim first, followed by counter-claims by the Transport Association, had been reversed this year. The association had filed a claim first and the union had then entered its counter-claim. There was no ill-feeling in the union about the matter and the claims would be settled in the normal manner, he said.
