CAR RELIABILITY TRIAL
WINNER ANNOUNCED (NJZ. Press Association —Copyright) SYDNEY, July 22. The Australian Sporting Car Club last evening announced that Jack Murray, of Bondi, was the official winner of the Redex 9600 miles round-Auztra-lia reliability trial. Murray, who did not lose a point, was announced the provisional winner when x the trial ended on Tuesday evening. The committee also confirmed the second and third placings. They are: G. W. Patterson, Victoria (Peugeot), 8 points, 2; A. A. C. Anderson, Queensland (Holden), 14 points, 3. A spokesman for the committee said that of 12 protests and complaints dealt with, three were upheld. They concerned mainly points lost at secret controls. He said the committee had decided not to make an award in the under 1100 c.c. class, as no cars completed the course without being officially withdrawn. The spokesman said the competitor in the trial travelled a total of 5,000,(TOO miles without a fatal accident or serious accident,.
