FISH AND CHIPS

Sir,—l quite agree with “Observer” when he asks: who is to tell when buying fish and chips that it is not elephant fish? As there is so much of this cheap fish sold on the market every day, there is no doubt that the public must be eating a great deal of it. Who is to know when he is sold elephant cutlets in place of other fish? As this fish is full of ammonia it is not fit for human consumption. —Yours, etc., AMMONIA. July 13. 1954.
