Average Church Stipend.—The average stipend over all cures in 1954 was £5OO, it was reported at the last meeting of the Standing Committee of the Christchurch Diocese. Cures paying above the average number 30, and those paying below number 29. Notified increases in stipends have been received from eight more .vestries. —>’•
