TRACK WORK BY n.z. Horses PAPER STRIP AND TESLA IN FORM (N.Z. Press Association—CopyrigM) (Rec. 8 p.m.) BRISBANE, July 8. A brilliantly ran seven furlongs by Paper Strip and Tesla was outstanding amongst several smart cup trials at. Doomben this morning. Paper Strip (Sellwood) defeated Tesla (Hughes) by half a length, with Rising Fast a length and a half away. They ran the seven furlongs in lmin 28isec. At the finish Tesla appeared to have something in reserve. Lancaster (Sellwood) defeated Casa (Williams) comfortably over six furlongs in lmin 161 sec. Lancaster moved freely throughout and showed no signs of soreness on pulling up. There was some slight filling in Lancaster’s off foreleg after he had worked, but it will not be known until later today whether his splendid work-out has affected him. Silver Kingdom looked very fit when he galloped a mile in lmin 54sec. In Step (Sellwood) moved strongly throughout seven furlongs in lmin 30sec.
