FRENCH ATTITUDE TO E.D.C.
Critic Of Plan Now In Key Post PARIS, July 7. Mr Max Lejeune, an outspoken critic bf the European Army, was today elected chairman of the National Assembly’s National Defence Committee. Mr Lejeune, a Socialist, replaces General Pierre Koenig, a de Gaullist, who is now Defence Minister in Mr Pierre Mendes-France’s Government. The National Assembly’s Justice Commission today rejected ratification of the European Army Treaty. The Foreign Affairs and National Defence Committees have already rejected ratification of the treaty.
