ADDINGTON MARKET

SMALLER ENTRIES Only in one section did prices show any marked variation at Addington stock market yesterday. That was in tbe fat cattle, where steers were about £2 a head dearer, heifers up to 10s to £1 dearer, and cows £1 to 30s dearer.

Values wure 3s to 5s a head in advance of last week. There was an entry of only seven choppers, and for these competition showed little change. Values were:—

STORE PIGS The entry in the store pig section was much larger than last week, and included a large number of sows in pig and sows with litters. There was a medium attendance of buyers and at the opening competition was very restricted, with values easier by 3s to 4s a head. As the sale progressed, however, values rose and practically maintained last week’s levels. The yarding of 12 sows in pig met good competition, with values ranging from £27 to £32 10s° Ur S ° WS With IRterS made Values were:— Small weaners, 52s to 60s. Best weaners, 62s to 695. One hundred head of mixed quality fat cattle met a firm demand today at Temuka and store cattle also sold well.
