CANTERBURY AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP The second round of the Canterbury provincial amateur billiards championship was played this week. In most of r he matches, the play was interesting with, few surprises. Simons was seen at his best in his game against Franks. Simons was always in the lead, and compiled three useful breaks—--81. 51, and 47 unfinished. Higgins, Yesberg, and Kelly each had comfortable wins.
