STOCK EXCHANGES HEAVY TRADING A large volume of business was transacted on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Price movements were inclined to be erratic. Quotations on the whole were firm to firmer, and the absence of sellers for banking issues ‘ and popular New Zealand stocks was again marked. < Pursuing their upward trend, Ballins s Breweries had sales at 28s, with further c buyers at 27s 6d, and sellers at 28s 6d. r Buyers for New Zealands goffered 45s 6d, s but sellers again did not quote.
