Boy Shot In Trying To Commandeer Plane
CLEVELAND (Ohio), July 6. A boy was fatally wounded today when he forced his way aboard a Mexico-bound airliner and brandished a pistol, demanding to be taken to Mexico City. # American Airlines officials said the boy, Raymond Kuchenmeister, aged 15, boarded the aeroplane, accompanied by his 12-year-old brother, Donald. The boys forced their way past the stewardesses and passengers to the pilots’ cockpit as the DC-6 was warming up at Cleveland airport. In the cockpit the older boy brandished the pistol and ordered the captain to “take me to Mexico City.” The second pilot distracted the boy’s attention and the captain whipped out a nistol from his flight kit and fired once, fatally wounding the boy.
