QANTAS CHARTERS T.E.A.L. DC-6
SYDNEY-TOKYO SERVICE (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) Am, , TOKYO, July 5. A Tokyo official of Qantas Empire Airways said today that Qantas would speed up its weekly Sydney-Manila-Tokyo service this week by replacing the DG-4 at present making the run, with a DC-6 chartered from Tasman Empire Airways. The chartered aircraft, which will have a mixed crew of New Zealanders and Australians, will leave Sydney at 3 p.m. local time on Wednesdays, and arrive at Tokyo at 7 p.m. local time on Thursdays. The new schedule will eliminate the overnight stop at Manila
