BANK OF NEW ZEALAND

MR H. R. H. CHALMERS TO BE CHAIRMAN (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 6. The appointment of Mr. H. R. H. Chalmers, C.M.G., of Wellington, as chairman of the Bank of New Zealand, was announced today by the

Prime Minister (Mr Holland). Mr ChdQmers has been acting-chairman since the death of Sir Arthur Donnelly.

Mr Holland also announced the reappointment as a director and appointment as deputy-chairman of Mr John Grierson, C.8.E., of Auckland. A former general manager of the. bank, Mr Chalmers is also president of the New Zealand Racing Conference.

The bank directorate consists of six directors, the other four being Messrs J. L.'Griffin (Wellington), G. H. Grigg, C.B.E. (Hororata), Jack Halligan (Wellington) H and G. D. Stewart (Wellington). V
