TERRITORIAL ARMY
RECONSTITUTION IN BRITAIN
(Rec. 10.30 p.m.) LONDON. June 27. The Secretary of State for War (Mr J. J. Lawson) announced in the House of Commons that the Territorial Army was being reconstituted and trade unionists would for the first time be called on to assist by appointing representatives to the Territorial Associations. He added that the Army would retain the old names of many of its most famous units. ,A nucleus of 150,000 men was planned. It was intended to improve the living standards for all ranks, with increased supplies of modern furniture, cooking utensils, and other household requirements, and modern houses for married men within walking distance of camps, said Mr Lawson.
