After a long aitting on Thursday to consider the Imprest Supply Bill, the House of Representatives had a short sitting to-day, when references were made to former members of the Legislature who had died in recent months They included Sir Charles Statham generally considered one of two great Speakers of the House, the other beins Sir Maurice O’Rorke.

The first real legislation of the session, the Apprentices’ Amendment Bill, was introduced to-day The House adjourned until 2.30 n m on Wednesday, the long interval heine taken because there will be no steamer from Lyttelton on Monday evening
