The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m., by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows Situation: a deep depression, centred north-east of the North Island is moving slowly south-eastwards. An anticyclone is located south of Tasmania. The forecast is for moderate winds from a southerly quarter, with occasional showers about and north of Banks Peninsula. Weather improving elsewhere, though still rather cloudy and cold. The forecast for the°West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate easterly to south-easterly winds. Weather fine and rather mild. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday Was cool, with intermittent showers. At 1 o'clock this morning the sky was oVercast, and there was a fresh south-west wind.
