COACH FOR WELLINGTON INQUIRIES TO BE MADE IN AUSTRALIA (P.A.) WELLINGTON. June 2,. E. Hendren is not willing to accept the position of professional coach for the Wellington Cricket Association, according to a cable message to the association from G. O. Allen, the former English captain. The association decided to write to the Australian Board of Control asking about possible coaches from Australia. M. W. Sievers, the Victorian all-rounder, it a possibility. During the next few months several well-known Wellington cricketers will visit Australia, and will be asked to obtain first-hand information about players offering. Maurice Tate, one of England’s greatest Test bowlers, in a letter received by the association, indicated his willingness to come to New Zealand, but did not indicate the terms. It is doubtful, however, whether Tate, who is purely a bowler, would be suitable for the job Wellington is offering.
