YESTERDAY IN THE HOUSE

(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, June 27. The House of Representatives spent only a short time to-day on other business before proceeding to the Imprest Supply Bill. The voting on an Opposition amendment, defeated by 43 to 34, was remarkable because every member of the House voted except those who are out of the country, the Minister of Finance (the Rt. Hon, W. Nash) and Mr K. J. Holyoake (Opposition, Pahiatua).

The references to former members of the Legislature whose deaths have occurred in recent months will be made in the House to-morrow morning and the adjournment, will then be taken as a mark of respect.
