‘ The Press * Special Service WELLINGTON. June 27. The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m., by the Meteorological Oftice. Wellington, hnd dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows:
Situation: the depressio® in the north Tasman Sea is filling, but a shallow depression east of North Auckland is moving south-eastwards. Forecast to 5 p.m.: light to moderate south-westerly winds. Weather cloudy to overcast, with drizzle or rain at times, and extensive areas of fog on the plains. Conditions improving south of Banks Peninsula during the day. Cool temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate winds between east and south. Weather fair to fine and cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was overcast and showery with a light south-west wind.. The maximum temperature was 51 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast with steady rain. The barometer was steady at 39.80 i» (1009.1 millibars). Meteorological observations taken at the Magnetic Observatory. Christchurch.
