POLISH PLAYERS AT WIMBLEDON
NAME OF COUNTRY SUPPRESSED (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, June 25. Two Polish-bom players, C. Sphycalla and L Tloczynski. discovered when they arrived at Wimbledon today that the name of their country had been deleted from the programme. The abbreviation P appeared after their names in Monday’s programme, but to-day there were blanks. A Wimbledon official said this had been done as the result of representations "from Warsaw,” but refused a further explanation. “As members of General Anders’s 2nd Corps which fought in Italy I .suppose we can be classed as men without a country," said Sphycalla.
