The New Delhi radio says that the of the Congress Party (Dr. Gooiana Azad) announced that ConSs has accepted the British Cabinet SSion’s long-term proposals for a Kderal Union of British India and Princely States in which the States ®„uld have all the powers except ihisc of foreign affairs, defence, and Snmunicaticns, which would be virfed in the Central Government. Dr. also confirmed that the Congress Sart-- had rejected the proposals for interim coalition Government. An official statement of the latest development in the negotiations is expected this afternoon or this evening, rr Azad sent the Congress decision bv'letter to the Viceroy (Lord Wavell), »-ho immediately went into conference with the members of the British Cabinet Mission. The working committee of the Moslem League, which has already accepted the British proposals for an in-te-im coalition Government, is meeting again to-day for further discussions The president of the League (Mr Jinnah) talked with the Viceroy ♦h-s morning. Congress Party circles believe that the British Cabinet Mission may return to Britain within two .or three days to report to Cabinet.
