IMMIGRATION
Sir,—Your leading article in “The Press” of Friday on immigration will surely be ridiculed. You claim that New Zealand is unwise in not following Australia in the stupid intention of bringing immigrants to Australia while the necessary housing is not available. Can you say what class of workers is required in New Zealand? No doubt there will be more than 1000 boys leaving school this year. They should be our first consideration. Jobs may be hard to find in a few years time.— Yours, etc., B. HAMPTON. June 25, 1946.
