SOUTH ISLAND TEAM TO PLAY NORTH ISLAND
The fallowing team will represent the South Island in the annual Rugby League match at Carlaw Park, Auckland, on Saturday, July 6:—full-back, J. Soster (West Coast); three-quarters, J. Forrest (West Coast), W. Mountford (West Coast), R. Brown (Canterbury); five-eighths, K. Henry (Canterbury), J. McNaughton (West Coast); half-back, M. Ord (West Coast); forwards, W. Mountford (West Coast), C. Mcßride (West Coast), A. Gillman (Canterbury), P. Smith (Canterbury), R. Aynsley (West Coast) hooker, J. Newton (West Coast). Reserves: forward, J. Dukes (Canterbury); back, L. Brown (Canterbury). The team will leave Christchurch next Tuesday. NORTH ISLAND TEAM SELECTED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 24. Eleven Aucklanders are included in the North Island Rugby League team to play the South Island at Auckland on July 6. The selectors have in-mind several others with claims for inclusion in the New Zealand team to play against the Englishmen. Apart from the Aucklanders, the team includes M. Solomon (Wellington) and L. Allen (South Auckland).
The team is:—full-back, W. S. Clarke; three-quarters, M. Solomon, L. Jordan, A. Graham; five-eighths, P. Kelly, R. Clark; half-back, L. Allen; forwards, P. Ririnui, D. Ryan, B. Graham, P. Herkt, R. Rogers, A. Laird. It is stated that several . Wellington players will be brought to Auckland for the Town v. Country match, to be played the same day, including Jack Hemi.
