PUBLIC NOTICES WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES—YEAR 1946-1947. PURSUANT to the provisions oi the “Rating Act, 1925,” and the “Counties Act, 1920,' and subsequent amendments, PUBLIC NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Waimairi County Council has prepared and approved the following Estimate of Income and expenditure for the period commenced on the Ist day of April,. 1946, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1947: 1. EXPENDITURE £ (a) Administration Salaries, printing, advertising, audit, insurances, and «general Office expenses .. 6,370 (b) Qther items oi a general nature, including maintenance of plant, buildings, and reserves, maintenance of refuse pits-, street lighting, election expenses, grants, etc. .. 10.543 (c) County works, including maintenance and construction of .roads, footpaths, drainage, bridges, * main highways, and provision for plant renew al, etc. .. 29,898 46,811 1 INCOME—(a) Heavy Traffic fees apportionment, motor drivers’ licence fees, building and other miscellaneous licences and fees 5,805 (b) Government subsidy on rates .. 2,500 (c) Hire of plant, etc 4,650 (d) Rents and other general . receipts .. .. 2,220 (e) Credits-in-aid, etc. 14,346 3. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that for the purpose of meeting the additional amount required of £17,290 it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council at the expiration of fourteen (14) days from date of this Notice to make and levy the following General Rates on the Rateable Capital value of all the rateable property in the respective Ridings:— STYX: One penny Farthing <Ud) in the £. MARSHLAND: One penny and One Eighth of a penny (IJd) in the £. AVON. One penny and One Eighth of a penny (ljd),in the £. BELFAST: Three-farthings (3d) in the £. HAREWOOD: Three-farthings (3d) in the £. PAPANUI: Seven-eighths of a penny (Jd) in the £. WAIRARAPA: Three-farthings (3d) in the £. FENDALTON: Five-eighths of a penny (gd) in the £. MIDDLETON: Three-farthings (id) in the £. FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN pursuant to the provisions of the “Counties Act, 1920,” the “Public Health Act, 1920,” the "Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” the "Rating Act, 1925,” the “Waimari County Differential Rate Empowering Act, 1912,” the "Fire Brigades Act, 1908,” and all Acts amending same, that at the expiration of fourteen (14) days from date of this notice it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council to make and levy separate and special rates and also rates on behalf of other Local Authorities as follows: 5. A rate for Hospital and Charitable Purposes of Five-eighths of a penny (id) m the £ on the Rateable Value of all the Rateable Property in the ■ County of Waimairi. • A Rate for Fire Protection Purposes in that Special Area in the Fendalton, Wairarapa, and Middleton Ridings, declared by Resolutions of the Council on the 29th day oi April and the 12th day of May. 1924, of One-ninth of a penny (l-9d) in the £ on the value of Improvements. 7. A uniform fee for Sanitation Purposes on all the Rateable properties in the Sanitation Areas of the County as defined in By-law No. 2, and amendments thereof as follows: BELFAST RIDING, 35/6 per pan. PAPANUI, MIDDLETON, WAIRARAPA. FENDALTON, AVON, and MARSHLAND RIDINGS, £2 per pan. 8. In compliance with a Special Order of the Waimairi County Council passed on the 12th day of July, 1925, a Differential Rate on the Rateable Value of all the Rateable Property in the Styx Drainage area in the Styx, Belfast, and Harewood and Papanui Ridings of the County, as follows: On the property described in classification Lists as being in:— (a) Class 1: A Rate of . thirteensixteenths (13/16ths) of a penny in the £.
