SELWYN PLANTATION BOARD

MR C. W. HERVEY RESIGNS SECRETARYSHIP

Mr C. W. Hervey, who has for the last 31 years been secretary to the Selwyn Plantation Board, resigned from that position at yesterday’s meeting of the board. In accepting his resignation on behalf of the committee, Mr W. P. Spencer paid high tribute to the work of Mr Hervey.

The superintendent (Mr E. A. Cooney), in his report, said that 450,000 two-year insignis . trees would be planted out this season. So far 103,000 of the two-year-old insignis had been lifted from the nursery for planting. Work had begun at the Holmes reserve, and it was expected, to plant 13,000 trees each day. , The amount of timber logged during April and May, it was reported, was 712,136 super feet.
