DR. BARNARDO’S HOMES

More than 133,000 children have passed through various Dr. Barnardo homes in England during the 79 years the homes have been in existence. They have received good training so that, instead of remaining waifs and strays in city streets, they have been able to face up to the problems of life with confidence. During the recent world war more than 6000 boys and girls who had at various times been in homes had served with the armed forces. When many homes were hit by bombs, some beyond repair, the Charter "No Destitute Child Refused Admission," was maintained.
