“THE GREAT JOHN L” Bing Crosby’s first effort at movie production, “The Great John L.," which starts its season at the Crystal Palace to-day, is the story of one of the greatest of American heavy-weight fighters. It follows Sullivan’s life from his start in Boston, where he earned the title of “The Boston Strong Boy,” through his famous fights with John Flood, Paddy Ryan, and Jim Corbett, his fall from grace, and his final emergence as one of the most popiilar figures on the Chattauqua circuit. The picture stars Linda Darnell and Barbara Britton, and Introduces Greg McClure as John L. Sullivan. In the portrayal of the period during which John L. loved, laughed, and fought many of the great personalities of that glittering age make their appearance. Supporting the stars are Otto Kruger, Wallace Ford, and Lee Sullivan,
