ANOTHER TEST TRIAL MATCH
COUNTY COMMITTEE’S DECISION (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, June 13. The Advisory County Cricket Committee has announced an additional three-day Test trial match, to be played on July 10 if a ground is available. The Press Association says this is very significant in view of the forthcoming tour at Australia. The match will provide the selectors with an opportunity of trying out young players with experienced men. The committee also decided that the proposal to widen the qualification rules tor county cricketers m 1946 was not a desirable decision. The New Zealand fast bowler, T. L. Pritchard, who is qualifying for Warwickshire, will not be able to play for that county until next season. The Press Association says that had the committee relaxed the rule it would have left the way open for counties to introduce Dominion cricketers at their leisure thia season—a position in the interests neither of English nor Dominion cricket.
