NEW PROPOSALS MADE TO EGYPT (Rec. 7 p.m.) CAIRO, June 18. The Egyptian delegation to the British-Egyptian treaty negotiations discussed to-day for three hours new British proposals for treaty revision which the British Ambassador (Sir Ronald Camptyell) nad earlier communicated to the Prime Minister
(Sidky Papha). Several members of the delegation afterwards expressed pleasure at the progress made. Sidky Pasha said: “I am optimistic because there is no reason for pessimism.” The Egyptians will meet again tomorrow.
Reuter’s Cairo correspondent says it is reliably reported, that Cairo’s Citadel, which has been occupied by the British for 64 years, will be handed over to Egypt in the near future.
