Group Captain G. J. Grindell, D.F.C., A.F.C., R.A.F., Senior Air Staff Officer to the R.S.A. Mission to Australia and New Zealand, is on furlough and is visiting his mother, Mrs Grindell,Orari. He was a visitor to Geraldine yesterday.
Mr E. F. Evans, acting-district engineer of the Works Department, was elected chairman of the No. 14 District Highways Council yesterday in succession to Mr F. D. Grant, who has been transferred to Wellington. Appreciation, of Mr Grant’s services was recorded.
