TRAP SHOOTING
CHRISTCHURCH GUN CLUB In ideal conditions, the Christchurch Gun Club held a series of clay pigeon sweepstakes on the ground at Sockburn recently. There were 25 shooters present: The first sweep of five birds, with 22 competitors, resulted in nine shooting the possible—A. Prestney. J. Stiven, H. Grennell,.W. Quigley, jun., W. G. Dean. F. E. Kelly. J. Brightling, C. G. Nicholas, and G. Burgess. In the second sweep of 10 birds, eight shot the possible. The best scores were: J. H. Hayes, D. S. Dorreen, -R. S: Taylor, W. G. Dean. F. E. Kelly, J. Brightling C. G. Nicholas, J. J Coffey (10). In the third sweep of 10 birds, the best scores were: A. Prestney, F. L. Knowles. R. S. Taylor, J. Simpson, F. E. Kelly. T. Tresize (10). Twelve shooters competed in a round of skeet of 14 birds. Results were: J. Bright-, ling (13 breaks) 1, J. J. Coffey (9 breaks) 2. F. E. Kelly (8 breaks) 3. Mr L. A. Shand was referee. —w......
