N.Z. PRISONS
Sir,—So Mr Dallard, the Controller of Prisons, is annoyed! He is most indignant that O. E. Burton and some of the churches should endorse morbid and mischievous philosophies whicn develop to a reprehensible degree a pro-criminal and anti-authoritarian bias” in the treatment of criminals. Evidently he has missed the whole point in Mr Burton's fair criticism. Would his annoyance spring from the fact that the cap fits?—Yours, etc., REV. ANDREW J. JOHNSTON. June 19, 1946.
