PRESENTATION TO MR T. H. LANGFORD

EMPLOYEES OF TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT Many tributes to the ability and the personal qualities of Mr T H. Langford were paid yesterday by the employees of the Transport Department in Christchurch, when they made him a presentation. He was formerly No. 3 Transport Licensing Authority and will now become Public Relations Officer for the Christchurch City Council. Among the speakers were Mr J S Haywood. District Transport Officer and Mr E Wilson, Chief Traffic Inspector, who recalled Mr Langford’s associations with the department when it began work in Christchurch 10 years ago. On behalf of the staff they presented him with a travelling rug. and with a bouquet for Mrs Langford who also attended the presentation Mr J J B. Connor, who came to Christchurch with Mr Langford when the department first opened in the city, alsn praised Mr Langford’s work for transport control and interests in the district Replying. Mr Langford thanked the speakers for their tributes and for the loyal co-operation they had given him in his term of office.
