MR A. R. CUTLER ARRIVES
AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 19. The youngest High Commissioner ever appointed in the British Empire, Mr A. R. Cutler, V.C., arrived in Auckland by air to-day from Sydney to take up his post as-Australian High Commissioner in New Zealand. Mr Cutler, who is six feet six inches in height, is 30 years of age. He was
accompanied by Mrs Cutler, whom he married a little over three weeks ago. “This is my first visit to New Zealand, and I am looking forward to seeing your country,” said Mr Cutler on arrival. “I met a lot of members of the New Zealand Division overseas, • and I am hoping to see them again.” From his contact with New Zealanders during the war he had formed a very high opinion of them, and thought he was going to enjoy living in the Dominion. Mr Cutler won his Victoria Cross for gallantry during the Syrian campaign at the age or 25. He was then a lieutenant in an Australian field regiment. Mr Cutler will be stationed in Wellington, and will travel by the limited express on Friday night.
