ENGAGEMENT
Mr and Mrs W. Percy, Beckenham, announce the engagement of their youngest daughter, Daphne, to Allan David, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr C. R. Rooke, Ashburton. Sale of Greymouth Tea-rooms • It is likely that one of the two largest tea-rooms in Greymouth will shortly go out of existence, to be replaced by a mercery establishment. After negotiations which commenced some time ago, an application has been made to the Westland Land Sales Committee by Mr H. C. Moore for permission to sell his premises in Mackay street to Hallenstein Bros,, Ltd., for £14,000. The application will be heard at Greymouth on Friday. The bakery branch of the business will be retained and operated in the usual way. Greymouth has only one other tea-rooms of the type, and the closing of Herb Moore’s establishment will no doubt be a drawback to those desiring casual meals, as it is the only one of the two which remains open for evening meals.
