PROPOSAL TO LIMIT OWNERSHIP (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) TOKYO, June 17. The Allied Advisory Council has rejected the Russian proposal for expropriating land from wealthy owners, but approved the British plan, presented by Mr W McMahon Ball, limiting individual ownership as follows: on Honshu, Kyushu, and Shikoku. 7| acres; on Hokkaido. 24J acres. After the rejections of his plan, the Russian delegate (Lieutenant-General K. N. Derevyanko) supported Mr Ball’s proposal. The American chairman (Mr George Atchoson) reserved his approval, saying he was seeking advice from the United States Government. Mr Ball’s plan will be submitted to General MacArthur.
