CONVERTED CAR OVERTURNS
NO SIGN OF OCCUPANTS A car, the property of Mr L. T Jones, 78 Sf. Martins road, converted from Durham street on Monday, was capsized in Dunsandel shortly before 8 o clock on Monday evening. The car apparently got out of control while turning the.bend on the Main South road opposite the Dunsandel railway station. Indications were that it had first turned on. its side and had slid along the road for about a chain before turning completely over. Before it came to test it turned another somersault, and finished up on its wheels facing Christchurch. a ¥ g crowd gathered within a few minutes there was no sign of the driver or any other occupant. The surrounding paddocks .were searched by torchlight in the belief that the driver had been injured and had crawled away, but there was no sign of* anybody. The driver may have Suffered some injuries, however, as the car was badly damaged.
