SHIRLEY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD Mr H. Soanes presided over a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Shirley Bowling Club. In reviewing the previous season, Mr Soanes said that members of the club had won a number of trophies, and had also put up good performances in the Dominion victory tournament. Many members had given the greenkeeper much assistance during the season, and it was because of this that the green was kept in Such good order, he said. A resolution was passed placing on record the services rendered to the club by the retiring secretary (Mr A. Cameron). The following officers were elected:— patron, Mr J. B. Johns; president, Mr Stanley Wheatley; vice-president, Mr A. E. Fletcher; secretary, Mr C. B. McNatty; assistant-secretary, Mr E. Cooper; treasurer, Mr A. L. Ellingford; delegate to Canterbury Bowling Centre, Mr Johns; selector. Mr A. C. Rowland; mid-week selector, Mr A. C. Palmer; auditor, Mr F. E. Twyford; publicity officer, Mr E. C. Hyde; caretaker, Mr T. Wall; match committee. Messrs J. D. Wass, Palmer, and G. Daboum; social committee, Messrs H. B. Kay V. Armstrong, Dabourn, W. Ross, R. Cockayne, R. J. Smart, J. Carrington, and H. Wills; bowls examiner, .Mr Dabourn; coaches. Messrs W. D. Ramsay, S. Dick, and F. C, H. Williams; management committee, Messrs Ramsay, Ross, and B. Moore: umpires, Messrs Johns, Williams, Rowland, Kay, Dabourn. Ellingford, and D. Robertson: green superintendent, Mr E. A. Washbourne; green committee, Messrs A. G. Jones and L. Wilson; caterer, Mr Dabourn.
