NEW BRITISH AIR LINER.-An under-carriage view of the Hermes Hastings air liner, which recently underwent successful tests. It is designed to fly in the sub-stratosphere at a cruising speed of 300 miles an hour, and its maximum range is claimed to be 3460 miles. The makers say that a later type of Hermes, with a lengthened fuselage and fitted with gas turbine engines, will carry 64 passengers and will have a cruising speed of 355 miles an hour.
