Miss Rosemary Eley, M.8.E.. will act as lady-in-waiting to Lady Freyberg. Her decoration was awarded for her work as a British Red Cross and St. I: John welfare officer during the war. When the Allies were in Normandy she went there to carry out welfare work among the British soldiers in hospital. -In London she did welfare work among the civilian personnel. Miss Eley is a Londoner herself, and i her mother and sister are living there. , Miss Winifred Shotter has been ap--1 pointed television announcer at Alexandra Palace, the television centre in north London. Miss Shotter will be i remembered for her performances some years ago in the film versions of ! Ben Travers’s comedies. Miss Jasmine I Bligh has been appointed to a similar position. She has been associated with television announcing since before the war. * ! Mrs A. Allott nas been elected secretary of the recently-formed Riccarton Townswomen’s Guild, Other officers are:—secretary. Mrs Bray: treasurer, Mrs Wilson.
