RESEARCH BOYCOTT IF NATIONS DISAGREE m > NEW YORK. June 15. T Erench physicist. M. Frederick Joliot Curie. French assistant delegate to the Atomic Energy Commission, urged scientists throughout the world to boycott atomic energy research in the event of the Commission failing to agree on a plan ton the control of atomic weapons. He deplored "the secrecy surrounding our work even after the defeat of the common enemy. If we begin keeping discoveries secret in one Held of science for economic or military reasons. we shall find the same thing happening in other fields, and scientifle work will be slowed down and ultlmately stopped.”
