Victory Carnival in London.—-The thousands who flooded into London on the seventh and last night of the victory carnival again brought traffic to a standstill in Westminster, and padeed themselves irfto Whitehall, the Embankment, Parliament square, and Trafalgar square. London throughout the week has been a magnet for sign*” seers. They came and stared at tne floodlights, watched the displays on the Thames, wore paper hats, sang, ( joked, and managed to give an appearance .of carnival, although the city throughout the week has been almost bare of cigarettes and has been even short of potatoes.—London, June
