IMPORTANT RESULTS EXPECTED

BRITAIN TO CONTRIBUTE £lO,OOO (From E G. WEBBER, N.Z. Press Association Correspondent.) _ LONDON, June 13. During the next 12 months the New Zealand Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, in collaboration with leading British experts, and with the financial and material assistance of the British and American Governments, will conduct important investigations in New Zealand into meteorological conditions as they affect radio and radar communications at high frequencies. These investigations are expected to nave important results on the use of radar, radio direction, and self-pro-pelled missiles. 1 Special scientific equipment is being dispatched to New Zealand from Britain and America in order to assist in the work. In addition, the British Government has agreed to contribute £lO,OOO to the cost of the station.
