USE OF AIR BASES IN AZORES
U.S. AGREEMENT WITH PORTUGAL (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) LISBON. June 13. The United States has concluded a new 18-month agreement with Portugal for the use of air bases in the Azores. The purpose of the agreement is stated to be to maintain lines of communication with the American occupation forces in Germany. Britain is still negotiating with Portugal for the use of bases in the Azores.
