Dated this 10th day of June, 1946. 2766 LOCAL BILL IN THE MATTER of a proposed Bill or Act intituled "An Act .to extinguish the trust for abattoir purposes affecting certain land at Cass Bay vested in the Corporation of the Borough of Lyttelton and to declare other trusts in lieu thereof.” Pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders of the House Of Representatives relating to Local Bills, the Lyttelton Borough Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that application will be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at the next Session for leave to introduce a Bill intituled "The Lyttelton Borough Council Empowering Act 1946." The object of the proposed Bill is to extinguish the trust for abattoir purposes affecting the lands described in the First and Second Schedules hereto such lands being portions of an area of 53 acres 2 roods 21 perches at Cass Bay held by the Council for the purposes of an abattoir for the Borough of Lyttelton, the whole of such area now exceeding what is required for the purposes of such abattoir, and to declare that the land described in the First Schedule shall henceforth be held by the Corporation for the purposes of a Municipal Reserve, and to declare that with respect to the land described in the Second Schedule, the Corporation shall have all the powers vested in it bv the “Municipal Corporations Act 1933," the power of sub-division, lease or sale, advancement of moneys for purposes of building on or improving the said land, imposing of limitations on areas thereof which can be held by any one person, power to declare that portions of such land shall be residential with adootion in this event of provisions of “Lyttelton Borough Extension Amendment Act. 1915” and provisions for the application of moneys to arise from sale, lease or otherwise.

Copies of the proposed Bill together with copies of the plan of such lands have been deposited at the Magistrate’s Court Q t Lyttelton, and also at the office of the Lyttelton'Borough Council, Oxford Street, Lyttelton, at which places the ate open for public inspection during. office hours.
