RECOGNITION BY‘ EMBLEM . SOUGHT (P.A.) WHANGAREI, June 14. Speakers at the annual reunion of members of the Whangarei Home Guard last night were strongly of the opinion that some emblem of service with the Home Guard throughout the Dominion should be adopted by the Government. The following motion was carried unanimously: “That this meeting expresses the hope that the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) has not forgotten the service by the Home Guard, and that some recognition in the form of a medal or other acknowledgement will be granted to guardsmen wijen awards to home servicemen are being considered-”
